STRAW LOGS - Fuel For Thought

Renewable solid fuel logs for wood burners, open fires, chimeneas, stoves and camp fires. Fuel Britannia Straw logs, a versatile fuel for indoor or outdoor heating.

About us

Family team Tom Smith, John Smith and Caroline Knox have diversified their farming business to create an alternative and renewable biofuel from sustainable straw production on their farm.

Since moving to the Isle of Wight in 1983 there have been many changes in their farming enterprises. Originally, dairy farmers from the Clyde Valley in Scotland the Isle of Wight's sunnier climes offered new opportunity to produce fresh produce including potatoes, cauliflowers, sweet corn and carrots.

Latter years saw the business concentrate on potatoes and wheat crops then, recently, further simplification has resulted in the growth of only crops which can be harvested by combine. These are currently wheat, peas and oil seed rape.

For some time the family has had the ambition to provide an end product from their land. Recently Caroline Knox has created Oil of Wight Cold Pressed Rape Seed Oil for culinary use. Now, the initiation of Fuel Britannia Straw Logs also provides an alternative fuel, grown on the family's farm, ready for use in the home.

Fuel Britannia Straw Logs are a clean, effective and green biofuel for use in your home and garden for summer or winter heating
